International Viola Masterclass Leipzig

One of Tatjana’s main concerns has always been to communicate her passion and enthusiasm for the Art of the Viola. Accordingly she founded the International Viola Masterclass in 2008 in her adopted home town, Leipzig, to meet and teach promising young violists from all around the world.

Tatjana Masurenko lays particular emphasis on the importance of an appealing atmosphere and ambiance as well as suitable premises for the course.

The International Viola Masterclass worked in cooperation with the Mendelssohn House, Leipzig, between 2008 and 2010 and the course took place in the attached summer house. In 2011 and 2012 the course took place in the beautiful Kurt Masur Hall, in the Johann Sebastian Bach Music School. And since 2014 the participants can avail of the use of the historical rooms and beautiful conservatory of the University for Music and Theatre Leipzig.

The next International Viola Masterclass Leipzig will most probably take place in 2024.
